What’s one place you’d take every visitor to NZ and why?
Definitely Tukituki Valley, a short 15-minute car journey from Havelock North. I’d start with the impressive view by driving up to Te Mata Peak to get a sense of the beauty of the region below, before stopping off at Craggy Range Winery for some superb wines and delicious food.
There are also fantastic cycle trails and the Tukituki River is a great spot for fishing. Havelock North is a vibrant village and a visit to the House of Art is a must-see. It features over 30 local artists showcasing and selling their incredible art.
The hidden gem of a walk between Kahuranaki Road and Red Bridge. Red Bridge is a local caravan coffee spot and a relaxing stop after a 12km walk along the river. Get in touch if you’re keen on a Sunday walk!
